LGBTQ+ in Earth/Environmental Sciences

In accordance with our (hopefully) constant efforts to improve the representation and experience of traditionally underrepresented groups in academia and the sciences, I’d like to invite any interested student (undergrad or grad), faculty or staff to a meeting to discuss the potential role of an organization for LGBTQ+ people in the Earth/environmental sciences here at UW. My goal is to get a regular group going at some point, and the purpose of this meeting would be to start defining what work needs to be done and how such an organization could be useful and effective.

Time: Thursday January 21st, 5:30-6:30 PM

Place: 310 ATG

Everyone is welcome, and please feel free to send me feedback, questions and ideas ahead of time. I will send out a reminder closer to the date, and eventually set up a mailing list to best communicate with those interested. Thank you for your time, I hope everyone had a nice break.
