College of the Environment Funding Application Deadlines Approaching – Student Meeting & Travel Fund & Yakama Endowed Fund for Student Support

Dear College of the Environment Students,

Welcome back! We hope that you had a relaxing winter break and that your Winter Quarter is off to a fantastic start!

We want to draw your attention to two College of the Environment Funding Opportunities that have Winter Quarter application deadlines this month:

1) College of the Environment Student Travel & Meeting Fund DEADLINE: Wednesday, January 20, 2016

Eligibility: Current students pursuing an undergraduate major or graduate degree within the College of the Environment who are giving oral presentations of their original work at national or international meetings OR  Student organizations that are organizing and hosting an interdisciplinary student-run meeting attended by College of the Environment students presenting their original research.

2) College of the Environment Yakama Nation Endowed Fund for Student Support DEADLINE: Friday, January 22, 2016

The Yakama Nation Endowed Fund for Student Support was created to support the recruitment and retention of prospective and enrolled undergraduate and graduate Yakama Nation tribal members within the College of the Environment, and to deepen the connection between UW and the Yakama Nation via informal and formal gatherings, exchanges and co-learning.

There are 2 types of funding available:

  • Support of recruitment, retention and co-learning activities: College staff, students and faculty and Yakama Nation tribal members may apply for up to $1500 to support activities that either support the recruitment and retention of prospective and enrolled undergraduate and graduate Yakama Nation tribal members within the College, and/or deepen the connection between the Yakama Nation and UW.  Applications are accepted quarterly. The Winter Quarter deadline is January 22, 2016.
  • Direct support of Yakama Nation students in CoEnv: the fund provides awards of up to $3,000 to be used for any reasonable expense that supports the student’s progress in the College.  Applications may be submitted at any time.
