Community, Environment, and Planning (CEP) is now accepting applications for Fall 2017. CEP is an interdisciplinary Bachelor of Arts degree offered through the College of Built Environments at UW-Seattle. This unique undergraduate major is the only student-governed major on campus. If you are interested in people and their relationship to the built and/or natural environments (e.g. community development, sustainability, transportation, food justice, etc.), this is the major for you!
CEP is a personalized educational experience in a small learning community. Each quarter, students take one CEP course focused on the core tenets of community, environment, and/or planning. The rest of our classes are self-selected, with help from faculty and staff, to create an individualized study plan that guides you in achieving your personal learning goals. In our major, we develop skills, techniques, and knowledge necessary to be active leaders and conscientious planners in our communities and environments. Juniors and seniors take part in leadership roles every Friday that progress the major as a community in the form of governance. CEP is an education is fully lived, not passively taken.
