Are you interested in representing your program or group in the College of the Environment Student Advisory Council? The College of the Environment Student Advisory Council advises the Dean and Associate Deans on issues related to students. The council brings issues from the Dean’s Office to the student community and brings issues from the student community to the Dean’s Office. 

Brightwater Summer Internships- Deadline March 31st

Summer Internship Opportunity for Undergraduates
Brightwater (near Woodinville, WA) is offering several internship spots this summer for undergraduates who want to create inspiring outdoor learning experiences for children 4-12 while working in a beautiful natural setting. This is a 5-week internship with a small stipend to help with living expenses. For more information and application materials, visit islandwood.org/brightwatercamps. Volunteer and Attend Justice Sotomayor Event on March 10

First Year Programs is currently seeking volunteers for the upcoming event "A Conversation with Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor” on Monday, March 10th. All volunteers will be provided with a ticket to this sold out event. Volunteer positions will be filled based on availability on a first come first serve basis.

Opportunity: UW Peer Health Education

Do you have a passion for sexual health, mental health, or drug education? If so, the UW Peer Health Education program may be for you! We are currently recruiting for 2014-2015 peer health educators and welcome students from all majors and backgrounds to apply.
The Peer Health Educators are a group of student volunteers dedicated to encouraging healthier decisions by educating the UW community through presentations and other events. 

Join the Seattle MESA Tutor Training Program this Spring

We are looking for engaging and motivated graduate and undergraduate students who want to make a difference to underrepresented youth in Seattle. Starting this spring, you can begin your training to become a Seattle MESA math and science tutor for high school students.
WHO: Engaging and motivated UW graduate and undergraduate students who want to work with high school students from underrepresented groups. 

Beach Volunteers needed!

Share your love for Puget Sound – Become a Beach Naturalist!
Why do barnacles stand on their heads? What do sea stars like to eat? How do moon snails lay their eggs? Learn to answer these and other fun questions by volunteering as a Seattle Aquarium Beach Naturalist this summer. Naturalists receive training in April and May, and then spend three low tide days educating beach visitors about inter-tidal life and beach etiquette at 11 local beaches. 

Seattle Aquarium Internships – Summer Internship Deadline is March 10!

The Seattle Aquarium internship program is designed for those with a strong desire to move into the Zoo/Aquarium field as a career path. Our internship is an in-depth program requiring a minimum commitment of 400 hours (maximum of 500 hours) in at least 10 weeks but no more than 13 weeks (32-40 hours per week). Interns must be flexible with their schedule, and will be expected to work weekdays, weekends and holidays.

We need your help to reduce power-based violence on campus! We believe that natural student leaders, like yourself, are in a position to use peer influence to change the world we live in. If you believe that one person experiencing acts of violence is too many, then Green Dot will give you the skills to do something about it.

UW Restoration Event – January 17th

The UW Society for Ecological Restoration is having a work party on Friday, January 17th, 10am – 2pm. We will be meeting across from McCarty Hall dorms, pulling invasive plants and planting natives. Please wear clothes and shoes that can get dirty, and dress for the weather. We will provide snacks and good company. We hope to see you there!
