Yakama Nation Endowed Fund for Student Support

Funding is now available through the Yakama Nation Endowed Fund for Student Support. There are two types of funding:
– Support of recruitment, retention and co-learning activities: Quarterly, CoEnv staff, students and faculty and Yakama Nation tribal members may apply for funding to support activities that either support the recruitment and retention of prospective and enrolled undergraduate and graduate Yakama Nation tribal members within the College, and/or deepen the connection between the Yakama Nation and UW.

Announcing the 2015 ASLO Science Communication Internship

The 2015 Association for the Sciences of Limnology & Oceanography (ASLO) Science Communication Internship will provide exposure to the many forms of science communication over a 14-week period beginning in September 2015 in the Washington, D.C. area. This is a paid internship and carries a stipend of $6000. The internship is available to current or recent graduate students in the aquatic sciences.

MS assistanstship at UMass Dartmouth, modeling climate effects in fisheries stock assessments

Dear Colleagues,
I’m looking for a great M.S. student to work on a project modeling climate effects in stock assessments for Gulf of Alaska flatfish.
The student will be based in my lab at UMass Dartmouth, but will spend a summer working in Seattle at the Alaska Fisheries Science Center with Carey McGilliard.

The School of Aquatic and Fishery Sciences (SAFS) is pleased to announce the availability of undergraduate scholarships. Available scholarships may be used for tuition, books, lab fees, or other academic expenses. Scholarships are awarded for the 2015-16 academic year and are generally disbursed evenly over three quarters (Autumn, Winter, Spring) unless requested otherwise – awards cannot be applied prior to Autumn 2015.
