Mortar Board Alumni/Tolo Foundation Scholarships Available for UW students in all fields, due March 22

The Mortar Board Alumni/Tolo Foundation is accepting applications from outstanding University of Washington students for the 2013-2014 Mortar Board Alumni/Tolo Foundation scholarships. Mortar Board is the oldest continuing national honor society of the University of Washington campus and recognizes outstanding scholarship, leadership, and service in senior college students. You do not need to be a member of Mortar Board to apply.

Sea Mar Farm Worker ScholarshipSea Mar is awarding $1,000 scholarships to graduating high school seniors and undergraduate students of migrant* or seasonal farm worker families.** Students interested in attending a university, community college, or technical school are eligible to apply. Scholarship funds can be used for college-related expenses such as tuition, books, housing, food, etc. 

Washington State Opportunity Scholarship Application

WSOS Application Opens January 7

We are pleased to announce that the online application for the Washington State Opportunity Scholarship will be available Monday, Jan. 7, 2013. Click here to access the page that will link to the application.The scholarship helps low- and middle-income Washington State residents earn first bachelor’s degrees in science, technology, engineering, mathematics (STEM) and health care. The application period is Jan. 

Tillman Military Scholars program applications available Monday, due 2/15

The Tillman Military Scholars program provides scholarships for undergraduate, graduate or post-graduate degree students in all fields who are active or veteran servicemembers, or spouses of active or veteran servicemembers, from all branches of the U.S. Armed Forces. UW is now a partner university with this scholarship program, providing enhanced opportunities for our applicants and selected scholars.

Office of Merit Scholarships, Fellowships & Awards winter scholarship search and application workshops for undergrads

The Office of Merit Scholarships, Fellowships & Awards will be offering upcoming sessions on searching for scholarships, writing personal statements, writing CVs/resumes, and getting great recommendations:
Freshman Scholarship 101: Getting Started in the Search for Scholarships
Specifically designed for freshmen and sophomores, this introductory workshop provides students with information to begin the scholarship search and to develop a competitive edge for merit-based scholarships. 

$$$ – Mary Gates Scholarships – now accepting applications

The Mary Gates Endowment for Students is currently accepting scholarship applications. Mary Gates scholarships provide $4,000 ($2,000 per quarter for two quarters) for students to pursue leadership or research projects. These scholarships benefit students in the current academic year, and are open to all UW undergraduate students regardless of class year, major or residency status. Deadlines are coming up soon, so begin the application process and attend an information session and application workshop. 

UW Environmental Innovation Challenge-Prototype Funding Deadline Sunday, Dec 16

UW Environmental Innovation Challenge – Prototype Funding
Due Sunday, Dec 16:
We have $25,000 available for prototype funding which has been provided by the UW College of Engineering. You can use this funding for purchasing materials to build your prototype, renting equipment, purchasing safety equipment, and hiring short-term work beyond your team’s capacity. We prefer to see requests between $500 and $1,500 but will consider both smaller and larger amounts.
