Seattle AWIS scholarship application

Happy New Year! I hope that 2014 is off to a good start for you.
In past years, you have kindly helped to publicize the scholarship program of the Seattle chapter of the Association for Women in Science (AWIS). I hope that you can do this again. On June 18 of this year, Seattle AWIS will award scholarships to several undergraduate women who are majoring in science, math or engineering fields at colleges and universities in Washington and will enter their junior or senior year in the fall.

I hope you are all having a great winter break! I just wanted to send a reminder of some important deadlines:
January 17: Abstracts are due for posters and oral presentations for the Annual Meeting. PLEASE submit an abstract to the Student Colloquium as well – this is a great opportunity to practice your talk or, if you’re not presenting at the conference, to get some peer review on a practice talk.

Applications now accepted: Mary Gates Scholarships

Happy New Year! Please share this information with undergraduate students in all disciplines.
The Mary Gates Endowment for Students is currently accepting scholarship applications. Mary Gates scholarships provide $4,000 ($2,000 per quarter for two quarters) for students to pursue leadership or research activities. These scholarships benefit students in the current academic year, and are open to all UW undergraduates regardless of class year, major or residency status.
