Paid Internships – 2014 Summer Undergraduate Research Program (SURP)

The Washington NASA Space Grant Consortium is pleased to announce the opening of the Summer Undergraduate Research Program (SURP) application as of today.
The program offers paid summer internships at STEM labs located around the University of Washington campus and affiliated agencies. Full-time internships are paid $4,000 and part-time internships are paid $2,000. The program dates are from June 13 – August 22 or UW summer quarter. 

Bonderman Fellowships: $20K to travel going once, going twice…

I’m writing to request your help in reminding students about the upcoming Bonderman Fellowship application deadline. We would greatly appreciate your help in notifying both graduate and undergraduate students that that applications for the 2014 Bonderman Travel Fellowship are due in less than a week, on Thursday, February 20, 2014 at 12 noon (PST)!

Winter 2014 Quarter Deadline: February 14, 2014
The College of the Environment (CoEnv) supports undergraduate, Masters, and PhD students in furthering their careers, and in particular in connecting students to networking opportunities afforded by the presentation of their original work in meeting venues. CoEnv supports two types of student attendance at meetings:
· Individual Travel to Meetings:
Maximums of $500 for North American travel and $750 for international travel; one per student per degree career; we anticipate making about 15 awards annually. 

Gilman Scholarship info session – study abroad scholarship

Global Opportunities is offering an information session on the Gilman Scholarship on Thursday, February 20 from 2:30 – 3:20pm in MGH171 – The Center for Experiential Learning & Diversity.
The Gilman Scholarship provides study abroad scholarships for US citizen, Pell Grant-eligible undergraduates. The deadline for students studying abroad this summer or fall is Tuesday, March 4. Students studying abroad next winter or spring will apply in early October. 

Tillman Military Scholars program – application opening Feb. 7 & upcoming UW info sessions

The Tillman Military Scholars program provides scholarships for undergraduate, graduate or post-graduate degree students in all fields who are active or veteran servicemembers, or spouses of active or veteran servicemembers, from all branches of the U.S. Armed Forces. UW is a partner university with this scholarship program, providing enhanced opportunities for our applicants and selected scholars.
The scholarship application will open online on Friday, Feb. 

NOAA Sea Grant Aquaculture Research 2014: Call for Proposals – WA State Investigators

NOAA SEA GRANT AQUACULTURE RESEARCH 2014
CALL FOR PROPOSALS- WASHINGTON STATE INVESTIGATORSThe 2014 NOAA Sea Grant Aquaculture Research Program competition is now open. Recipients may be eligible to receive a total of $500,000 in federal funds (up to $250,000 per year) for a two-year project. Researchers must submit a preproposal to the National Sea Grant Office in order to be eligible to send a full proposal to Washington Sea Grant.

FHL Molluscan graduate scholarship opportunity

Friday Harbor Labs,
I would like to notify you of a scholarship opportunity for the students at FHL. We would appreciate it if you could post or forward this information to any instructors or students to whom it might pertain. This scholarship is available to any graduate student doing work on mollusks in the Pacific Northwest.

Seattle AWIS scholarship application

Happy New Year! I hope that 2014 is off to a good start for you.
In past years, you have kindly helped to publicize the scholarship program of the Seattle chapter of the Association for Women in Science (AWIS). I hope that you can do this again. On June 18 of this year, Seattle AWIS will award scholarships to several undergraduate women who are majoring in science, math or engineering fields at colleges and universities in Washington and will enter their junior or senior year in the fall.
