Postdoc position in Norway – Quantitative Ecologist

We’re recruiting for a two-year postdoctoral position in Norway on the project “SkagCore – A century of change: ecological responses to pollution, climate, and other stressors on the Skagerrak coast”. The position is at the University of Agder, in collaboration with researchers from the University of Oslo, NIVA, IMR, and some international researchers (like myself).

Field Technician in Freshwater Fish Ecology – University of Washington (April to July, 2016)
We are looking for a field technician to join the Freshwater Ecology and Conservation Laboratory (Dr. Julian Olden, University of Washington) for several months to assist with a series of field projects in Arizona, California, and Washington. Projects include the investigation of the community ecology and distribution of native and non-native fishes in the Lower Colorado River basin (Arizona), population biology of fishes in the Santa Margarita and Salinas River basins (California), and fish and plant surveys in the Chehalis River (Washington). 

Summer Field Technician Position in AK

Starting May/June 2016, the hydro-biogeochemistry group at the University of Washington in Seattle (http://faculty.washington.edu/rbneum/) has an opening for a summer field technician. The technician will be working at a field site located in Fairbanks, AK on a project investigating methane production and methane oxidation in a thermokarst bog. The site in the Bonanza Creek LTER research forest (http://www.lter.uaf.edu/) and is part of the Alaska Peatland Experiment (APEX — http://www.uoguelph.ca/Apex/APEX/Home.html). 

Permanent Fish Health Specialist – Fish Program – Hatchery Support Division – Spokane

This is a permanent full-time Fish & Wildlife Health Specialist position in the Fish Program, Science Division.The duty station is the Region 1 Office, located at 2315 North Discovery Place, Spokane Valley, WA 99216-1566
Routinely monitor and evaluate health of finfish, primarily at WDFW hatcheries but also at cooperative facilities, and in wild fish populations.  Recommend best possible treatments currently available to: control disease; institute disease prevention programs; recommend modifications in rearing parameters and fish cultural practices to prevent disease; and perform applied research for improving the health of finfish at WDFW hatcheries.
