Over 500 study and internship programs will be represented providing an ideal venue to gather program information, compare options, ask questions and receive answers about the wide range of foreign study opportunities available to UW students. 

Boren Undergraduate Scholarship for study abroad – UW info sessions & deadline

Thanks so much for sharing widely the Critical Language Scholarship information I shared last week. Another similar and yet completely different program is also available for students planning to study critical languages abroad during 2014-15. Again, please share widely with students in all fields.
Boren Scholarships provide up to $20,000 to U.S. undergraduate students to study abroad in areas of the world that are critical to U.S.

Gilman Scholarship information session, Sept. 4, 3:30pm, Paccar 391

Interested in study abroad? Please join a Gilman International Scholarship Alumna for a presentation with information about this scholarship for study and internships abroad. The presentation will take place in the Paccar Hall, room 391 from 3:30-4:30 on September 4 and will cover information on the Gilman Scholarship and how to create a competitive application. The Gilman Scholarship program offers grants for U.S. 

Fulbright U.S. Student Program – two more UW information sessions upcoming

Are you currently a junior, senior, graduate or professional student or a recent bachelor’s, master’s or JD graduate looking for a fully-funded abroad experience during the 2014-15 academic year? Consider the Fulbright U.S. Student Program. This program is designed to give students, artists, and other professionals opportunities to pursue research, graduate study or English teaching experience in over 155 nations worldwide. 

Fully funded fall internships in Bermuda – NSF Research Experiences for Undergraduates – APPLICATION DEADLINE MAY 30TH!

This email serves to announce that the Bermuda Institute of Ocean Sciences (BIOS) has received funding from the National Science Foundation (NSF) for the Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU) Program to support eight internships for undergraduate student research at BIOS during fall 2013.
This program provides recipients with the opportunity to conduct intensive, hands-on research projects in several active and ongoing research areas, including:

Biology, chemistry, and physics of the open ocean
Biology, physiology, and biochemistry of coral reef ecosystems
Molecular biology of marine organisms
Environmental chemistry of Bermuda’s atmosphere and inshore waters
Effects and consequences of global environmental change
